Sometimes, the most terrifying journeys begin in the most familiar places.

This August, Warner Bros. Pictures invites audiences into a world where the ordinary is shattered by the extraordinary with The End of Oak Street, the latest mystery thriller from acclaimed writer and director David Robert Mitchell. Opening in cinemas across the Middle East on 13 August 2026, the film promises a gripping blend of suspense, psychological tension, and science fiction.

At the heart of the story is the Platt family, whose seemingly normal suburban life is turned upside down after a mysterious cosmic event tears their neighbourhood away from reality. Suddenly displaced into an unknown and unrecognizable landscape, they are forced to confront a world where survival depends not only on resilience but on staying united in the face of the unimaginable.

Leading the cast are Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway and Golden Globe winner Ewan McGregor, joined by rising stars Maisy Stella and Christian Convery. Together, they bring emotional depth to a story that explores family, fear, and the fragile boundaries between the known and the unknown.

Behind the camera, Mitchell assembles an accomplished creative team that elevates the film’s cinematic ambition. Award-winning cinematographer Michael Gioulakis captures the unsettling atmosphere, while Maya Shimoguchi’s production design and Michael Giacchino’s haunting musical score create an immersive world where every frame heightens the mystery. Editing by John Axelrad and costume design by Erin Benach further reinforce the film’s distinctive visual identity.

Produced by J.J. Abrams, alongside Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, David Robert Mitchell, Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper, The End of Oak Street reflects the signature storytelling audiences have come to expect from Bad Robot Productions—combining compelling characters with ambitious, thought-provoking narratives.

Distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, the film will be released in both standard cinemas and IMAX® across the region from 13 August 2026, offering moviegoers a cinematic experience designed to immerse them in its mysterious and visually striking universe.

With its stellar cast, acclaimed creative team, and an intriguing premise that blurs the line between reality and the unknown, The End of Oak Street is shaping up to be one of this summer’s most anticipated theatrical releases.

The End of Oak Street arrives in cinemas and IMAX® across the Middle East on 13 August 2026.
