From space research and humanitarian work to family resilience and supporting people of determination, four Emirati women are being recognised for the difference they make in the lives of others.
Some achievements are measured in titles, degrees and milestones. Others are measured in the lives they touch.
This Emirati Women’s Day, Umm Al Emarat Park is turning the spotlight toward four Emirati women whose stories reflect a different measure of success: the ability to create meaningful impact for others.
Under this year’s theme, “We Emerge Stronger and Better,” the park is recognising four women whose journeys span scientific research, humanitarian service, support for people of determination and extraordinary family devotion.
The initiative began in August, inviting members of the community to nominate an Emirati woman from their neighbourhood and share the story behind her contribution, achievements and impact. The response brought forward a collection of stories rooted in resilience, generosity, ambition and responsibility.
The four selected women are being honoured with Umm Al Emarat Park’s Gold Loyalty Card, which provides unlimited park access for one year, free entry for two children under 12, and additional benefits including 15% discounts at selected park outlets and experiences.
Hind Ibrahim: Turning Challenges into Strength
For Hind Ibrahim, strength has been shaped through the everyday realities of balancing family, work and community responsibilities.
While managing a demanding professional life, Hind has also navigated the challenges of caring for her son with special needs. Rather than allowing those challenges to define her journey, she has transformed her experiences into a source of support and inspiration for her family and others facing similar circumstances.
Her story reflects the quieter forms of resilience — the patience, perseverance and commitment that often happen away from the spotlight.
Maryam Al Hammadi: Reaching for the Future of Space
Maryam Al Hammadi represents a different expression of Emirati ambition: one driven by science, research and the pursuit of knowledge.
During her university years, Al Hammadi distinguished herself through academic excellence, achieving the highest GPA in her master’s programme at Khalifa University.
Today, her work extends beyond the classroom and into space science. She continues her research career in spacecraft propulsion, contributing to a project connected to the UAE’s mission to explore the asteroid belt.
Her journey reflects the growing role of Emirati women in the country’s scientific and technological ambitions — and the idea that national contribution can begin with curiosity, discipline and a commitment to knowledge.
Dr. Nadia Khalil Al Sayegh: Four Decades of Service
Some forms of impact are measured not in years, but in generations.
Dr. Nadia Khalil Al Sayegh has spent more than four decades supporting and empowering people of determination. She is the founder of Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs in Dubai, a centre dedicated to care and rehabilitation.
Her work represents a long-term commitment to creating opportunities, providing support and improving the lives of individuals and families.
After more than 40 years, her story stands as an example of what sustained humanitarian work can achieve when care becomes a lifelong mission.
Salha Al Remithi: When Family Becomes an Act of Giving
For Salha Al Remithi, giving began at home.
Nominated by her sister, Salha’s story is one of devotion during one of the most difficult periods of her sister’s life.
During her sister’s battle with cancer and hospital treatment, Salha remained by her side. She went further by attending nursing courses so she could help administer injections and operate the medical equipment required for her sister’s care.
It is a story of family, loyalty and selflessness — a reminder that some of the most profound acts of giving happen quietly, between people who simply refuse to leave each other’s side.
Celebrating the Impact Behind the Achievement
Together, the four stories offer a broader portrait of Emirati women’s contribution to society.
One woman is advancing scientific research. Another has dedicated decades to people of determination. Another has turned personal challenges into strength for her family. And another demonstrates how family loyalty can become an extraordinary act of care.
For Umm Al Emarat Park, the initiative is part of its ongoing role as a community destination — not only bringing people together, but creating space to recognise the individuals whose everyday actions reflect values of giving, solidarity, resilience and social responsibility.
On Emirati Women’s Day, these stories offer a reminder that impact does not have a single definition. Sometimes it reaches into the future through science. Sometimes it changes a life through years of service. And sometimes, it begins with simply being there when someone needs you most.
